Anti-Bullying Week 2020: United Against Bullying

Anti-bullying week is happening from Monday 16th – Friday 20th November and has the theme ‘United Against Bullying’. It is coordinated by the Anti- Bullying Alliance.

This year, more than ever, we’ve witnessed the positive power that society can have when we come together to tackle a common challenge.

Anti-Bullying Week is no different. Bullying has a long-lasting effect on those who experience and witness it. By channeling our collective power, through shared efforts and shared ambitions, as a school community we can reduce unkind behaviour together.

Over Anti- Bullying Week there will be a series of assemblies, tutor time activities and events taking place in school. The event will then finish on Friday with all members of the academy being invited to sign a pledge stating that they are United Against Bullying.

On Monday 16th November we are taking part in Odd Socks Day. We really want as many pupils, staff and parents as possible to take part and wear odd socks on this day.

What is Odd Socks day?

Most importantly, Odd Socks Day is designed to be fun! It’s an opportunity to encourage people to express themselves and celebrate their individuality and what makes us all unique!

There is no pressure to wear the latest fashion or for parents to buy expensive costumes.  All you have to do to take part is wear odd socks to your school or workplace, it couldn’t be simpler!

The Haven School is a place where every pupil has the right to be themselves and to be included in a safe and happy environment. Everyone at our school is equal and should be treated with respect. Should you have any concerns about unkind or bullying behaviour please do not hesitate to speak to your tutor or any other member of staff.

We are ‘United Against Bullying’.
